Spotlight on crypto at Accountex London

With cryptocurrencies becoming increasingly popular during the past few years, many are familiar with terms like blockchain and bitcoin, but Accountex London will help attendees find the signal through the noise.

Accountex will get you up to date on all things cryptocurrencies on May 11–12 at ExCeL London. With a big focus on fintech, the event will feature dedicated sessions and expert exhibitors who will be offering support, advice, and educational tools, so accountants and their clients can invest in confidence and build a successful crypto portfolio.

For insight into the intricacies of cryptocurrencies, Accountex’s free, CPD-accredited education programme includes a session from thought leader Ketan Makwana, chairman of Seventy7 Ventures on ‘The Future of Finance with Crypto Assets’ (May 11, 2022, at 1pm-1:45pm at Keynote A Theatre). In his talk, Makwana will explore the world of digital assets — crypto, Blockchain, and non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and how they are shaping the future of finance and already impacting global economies.

On day two of Accountex, Jason Steedman, director at Steedman Chartered Certified Accountants, who specialises in working with crypto/blockchain companies, will take the stage to discuss ‘Crypto & Blockchain Accounting — Understanding the Real Challenge’ (May 12, 2022, at 10.15am-10.45am at the Practice Innovation Theatre). The presentation will cover the lesser-known, unexpected, and constantly evolving challenges for accountants when tackling cryptocurrencies and digital asset accounting and tax advisory problems.

Crypto-focused exhibitors include Dacxi, which was the first in the world to use the innovation of blockchain to provide access to investment-grade assets via their Crypto Wealth Platform. The company also offers CPD accredited crypto education to consumers and professionals.

For making tax obligations simple, the CryptoTaxCalculator platform uses tools to help identify, track and organize crypto activity across hundreds of exchanges and blockchains.

Meanwhile, Recap aims to make crypto taxes painless, by helping accountants calculate crypto tax positions for their clients.

Accountex is Europe’s definitive event for accountancy and finance professionals, with over 9,000 attendees and 250 global brands and start-ups.
